This month, Deb Hunter, our CEO and Principal Physiotherapist, will be taking a break from the cold of New England to go trekking. As part of planning for her trip, she has taken extensive preparations to ensure she remains injury-free during her time away. So we thought this would be a great opportunity to share some of her tips for travelling.
As you mature, you may become more prone to injury, so need to be aware of your body’s capacity. However, it’s important not to let a fear of injury be a barrier to participating in the activities you enjoy. There are a few important things you need to consider before tripping off on your holiday. Sitting in a confined space for a prolonged period of time may cause some unwelcome issues by the time you reach your destination. Whether you are travelling on an aeroplane or at the wheel of a car, if you expect you will be experiencing extended periods of sitting, you can take some precautions.
